Who We Are

The Scottish Medicines Consortium is a committee made up mainly of clinicians and managers from across NHS Scotland and also representatives of the pharmaceutical industry and public partners.

Potential new committee members are sourced from the Area Drug and Therapeutics Committees (ADTCs) that are part of the Scottish Medicines Consortium. Three volunteer public partners ensure the views of patients and carers are taken into account during decision making. The committee also has three representatives from the pharmaceutical industry. This wide range of backgrounds helps ensure decisions are made from a broad perspective. The committee meets once a month and members sit on the committee for a term of three years.
