in the absence of a submission from the holder of the marketing authorisation:
bevacizumab (Avastin®) is not recommended for use within NHS Scotland.
Indication under review: In combination with carboplatin and paclitaxel for the treatment of adult patients with first recurrence of platinum-sensitive epithelial ovarian, fallopian tube or primary peritoneal cancer who have not received prior therapy with bevacizumab or other VEGF inhibitors or VEGF receptor–targeted agents.
The holder of the marketing authorisation has not made a submission to SMC regarding this product in this setting. As a result we cannot recommend its use within NHSScotland.
