Advice
following a full submission:
ertapenem (Invanz) is accepted for restricted use within NHS Scotland for the treatment of intra-abdominal infections in adults.
Ertapenem should only be used second or third line treatment of community acquired intraabdominal infections resistant to the current conventional treatments and under the advice of local microbiologists or specialists in infectious diseases.
