Following SMC collaboration with NICE on MTA TA878: nirmatrelvir plus ritonavir and tocilizumab for treating COVID-19.
nirmatrelvir and ritonavir (Paxlovid®) is accepted for restricted use within NHSScotland.
Indication under review: treatment of COVID-19 in adults who do not require supplemental oxygen and who are at increased risk for progression to severe COVID-19.
SMC restriction: Patients who have an increased risk for progression to severe COVID-19, as defined in section 5 of NICE final guidance.
