Advice
Tenofovir disoproxil fumarate is recommended in combination with other antiretroviral agents in HIV infected patients over 18 years of age experiencing virological failure.
REASONS FOR ADVICE.
Tenofovir produces a clinically relevant viral response in heavily pre-treated patients experiencing early virological failure. Tenofovir should be initiated under the general supervision of specialists experienced in the management of HIV/AIDs patients.
